About Sheikh Dr. Yasir Qadhi
Dr. Yasir Qadhi, holding a PhD degree, serves as the Resident Scholar at the Memphis Islamic Center. He also holds the position of a professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Rhodes College and acts as the Dean of Academic Affairs for AlMaghrib Institute. His educational journey includes earning a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston.
Dr. Yasir Qadhi furthered his studies at the Islamic University of Madinah, where he achieved a BA from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences, along with a subsequent MA in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah. Upon returning to the United States, he successfully obtained a PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University.
An exceptional feature of his background is his unique blend of a traditional Islamic seminary education from the East and a comprehensive Western academic training focused on the study of Islam.
